Last but not least: My Story

My full name is Melanie Gómez Mogollón, but people have always called me Mela (meh-lah); my pronouns are She/Her/Ella, and my story begins in Colombia, where I grew up and went to school for graphic design. After graduating, I decided to have a full-on cultural experience and moved to the United States.

I worked in different tech start-ups in San Francisco, CA, for seven years and gained experience as a digital graphic designer for mobile marketing and growth. My involvement with technology and mobile work led me to grow my career vision, pursue my interest in problem-solving to benefit people, and ultimately start my journey in UX in 2019.

I have experience working on the end-to-end lifecycle of a product, collaborating in agile, cross-functional teams, and turning qualitative and quantitative results into delightful experiences.

As a UX Designer/Researcher, I'm motivated by the fact that I can help improve someone's life by facilitating their interaction with technology through empathy, strategy, and the early use of accessibility standards.

I believe that through UX research, iteration, and testing, we can solve existing and potential frustrations, increase business value, and, most importantly, simplify complexities to create seamless experiences for everyone.
